The monument to Cyril and Methodius in Kolomna was opened in 2007. The foundation was devoted to the Russian national day of Slavic writing. The place of the monument was chosen in one of the most beautiful locations – the Cathedral Square of The Kolomna Kremlin. The height of the monument is 7,5 meters. The author of the project has objectified the importance of development of Slavic writing. In particular, he has portrayed Cyril with a scroll of the alphabet in his hand, and gave the New Testament to Methodius.
